As part of the senior leadership team reopening thirteen childcare centers in June 2020, Joy has significant experience understanding and implementing best practices regarding health and safety and contagion containment. We don’t really know what the pandemic will look like in the future. But, I can assure you the staff of Little Worlds Workshop will do everything we can to keep you and your family safe and to guide our community to work together for the safety of all.
Here is what the experience of the Pandemic has taught us so far about how to keep teachers, parents, and children safe and healthy:
We care for our communities and the ones we love when we care for ourselves
Small group settings (like the 12 child cohort at Little Worlds Workshop) are uniquely suited to support health and reduce risk
Embedding risk reduction and healthy practices into the school culture teaches children life long habits of body awareness and self care
Routines Rock! Intentional routines that allow for healthy hygiene practice make risk reduction normal and will allow us to stay healthy long after the pandemic crisis has lessened
Embrace Outside!- Holding group meetings outside, using outdoor learning experiences, and exploring nature are good for our children’s bodies and brains in every possible way
Talk it UP!- As in all things, we will intentionally build vibrant channels of communication and dialogue between teachers and families that support health for all
